Kids of Steel Registration Now Open Online



In conjunction with CCN, registration for KOS, JYD Memberships, and Birch Passes is now ready to go!


All you need to do is access the link provided below which with take you to our CCN Portage Junk Yard Dogs Membership Page. You will be required to create a profile with CCN if you do not already have one. Once you have logged in, you will be able to:


1) Access the "Category Details" tab to purchase an individual JYD membership or a family membership. (Where it says "Category" use the downward arrow on the screen to chose the option you require) 

2) Access the "Category Details" tab to register for the KOS program. (Where it says "Category" use the downward arrow on the screen to chose the option you require) 

3) Access the "Store" Tab to purchase your Birch pass.

KOM Registration FULL


We have had an overwhelming and quick response for the 2013 KOM season. At this time, KOM registration is currently full. This is based on the number of coaches in relation to the number of participants  Should we have any further interest in coaching, our participant numbers could be increased. If you are interested or know of someone who would make an awesome KOM coach, please contact us ASAP.




Just to summarize what you need for coaching KOM :

1) Completion of Making Ethical Decisions online
2) First Aid certification
3) Child Abuse Registry
4) Criminal Record Check
5) MCA Coaching Course being offered April 6 (classroom date) & 13 (bike riding session). Registration info coming shortly.
6) Respect In Sport online
6) General membership with MCA which will be paid back at the end of the season.

 Coaching Manitoba’s Respect in Sport Online Certification

-          Register as a new user, and follow the instructions
-   -          Time Required: ~3 hours
-          Cost: $0

  Making Ethical Decisions (MED) Online Evaluation
-          -          you must take either the Community Initiation – Classroom, or the Introduction to Competition – Training Basics First
-          From these courses, you will have the background information necessary to take the MED online evaluation.  You must get 75% or higher, and are only given a few attempts.
-          To take the online evaluation, go to: http://www.coach.ca/elearning-s13846
-          Be sure to take the correct evaluation.  If you in the Community Initiation coaching stream, then you need to complete the Community Sport MED online evaluation
-          If you are in the Introduction to Competition stream, then you need to complete the Competition – Introduction MED online evaluation.
-         -          Time Required: ~2 hours
-          Cost: $0
First Aid 

 First aid courses will be offered each month at Sport Manitoba.

Our first course is being offered March 9th and 10th at Sport Manitoba.

Coaches have the option of signing up for either the Emergency First Aid with CPR-C (one day course) or the Standard First Aid with CPR-C (two day course).

Coaches who successfully complete the course will receive their certification cards the same day. (Valid for 3 years)

 Re-certification courses can also be run if first aid certification is within the three year period.
